Whenever there was any cultural program in my school, one of the topics for debate was
“Handsome is what handsome does.”
Many years have passed, today I suddenly remembered this so I thought let’s write about this today ☺️

“Handsome is what handsome does” essentially conveys the idea that external beauty or physical appearance is not the sole measure of a person’s worth or attractiveness. It implies that a person’s actions, behavior, and moral character are what truly define their attractiveness or handsomeness.

This phrase underscores the significance of a person’s character.
Kindness, honesty, empathy and other positive qualities are what make someone genuinely attractive in the eyes of others.
It suggests that a person’s actions and how they treat others carry more weight than their looks.
External beauty may fade over time, but one’s character and behavior can remain attractive throughout life.
This saying encourages us to focus on developing our inner qualities for enduring attractiveness.
It promotes the idea that depth of character is more valuable than superficial attributes. A person who is respectful, caring, and ethical will be considered more handsome or beautiful in the long run.
People who consistently exhibit good behavior and positive actions tend to have a positive influence on those around them.
This can lead to stronger and more meaningful relationships.

So “Handsome is what handsome does” reminds us that true attractiveness goes beyond appearances and lies in our actions, behavior, and the content of our character. It encourages us to cultivate qualities that make us genuinely appealing and admired by others.
